In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Graphics 4600 and the GeForce 710M are equal.

The GeForce 710M has a 575 MHz higher core clock speed and 12 more Texture Mapping Units than the Graphics 4600. This results in the GeForce 710M providing 11.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GeForce 710M has a 575 MHz higher core clock speed and 6 more Render Output Units than the Graphics 4600. This results in the GeForce 710M providing 5.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The Graphics 4600 was released less than a year after the GeForce 710M, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

The GeForce 710M has 1024 MB video memory, but the Graphics 4600 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The HD Graphics 4600 Mobile has 20 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce 710M has 96. However, the actual shader performance of the Graphics 4600 is 108 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce 710M is 149. The GeForce 710M having 41 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the Graphics 4600 performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

The Graphics 4600 transistor size technology is 6 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GeForce 710M. This means that the Graphics 4600 is expected to run very slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GeForce 710M. While they exhibit similar graphical performance, the Graphics 4600 should consume less power than the GeForce 710M.

The HD Graphics 4600 Mobile requires 47 Watts to run and the GeForce 710M requires 15 Watts. The Graphics 4600 requires 32 Watts more than the GeForce 710M to run. The difference is significant enough that the Graphics 4600 may have a slight adverse affect on your yearly electricity bills in comparison to the GeForce 710M.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewOverview
Intel HD Graphics 4600 Mobile are Integrated Graphics in some of Intel's Mobile Haswell Processors.

Architecture
The Haswell GT2 Core includes support for DirectX 11.1, OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.3. Additionally, it also offers better Decoding Performance, when compared to its Predecessors.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GT2 which offers 20 Shader Processing Units, 4 TMUs and 2 ROPs. The Central Unit Initially Runs at 200MHz and goes up to 1350MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU Shares the System's RAM which varies from System to System. Typically, the GPU reserves 1.7GB. Depending on whether or not the system's RAM is Dual-Channeled, it can access either a 64-bit or 128-bit memory interface. The operating memory clock also depends on which speed the System's RAM is running and is limited by the highest operating speed that the Processor supports. In this case, it is 800MHz.
It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system.

Performance
The Most Powerful Variant Offers Performance similar to a dedicated GeForce GT 540M.
Select the Specific Version you have of this Graphics Card According to your Processor for a more Accurate Rank and experience using our tools.

System Suggestions
We recommend 4GB of RAM for a system with Intel HD Graphics 4600 Mobile.
Overview
GeForce 710M is a entry-level Mobile Graphics Card based on the second revision of the Fermi Architecture.

Architecture
The Fermi Architecture is manufactured with a 40nm Technology and uses a technique known as Hot Clocking: The Shaders are clocked twice as fast as the Central Unit. While this leads to a reasonable performance boost, it causes enormous amounts of energy dissipation, leading, ultimately, to a significantly higher operating temperature.
Fermi is also the first GPU architecture with fully cached memory access which increases memory performance.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GF117-N14M-GL which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 96 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 775MHz. Additionally, GF117 is built using a 28nm technology.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of DDR3, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 900MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for Optimus, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 15W, it is suited for small laptops.

Performance
GeForce GT 710M is essentially a fast GeForce GT 620M.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is slightly below the older GeForce GT 540M.

System Suggestions
We recommend a modest processor (Intel Core i3 Mobile) and 4GB of RAM for a system with GeForce 710M.
