In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 1GB are marginally better than the AMD Radeon HD 7750 VTX3D 1GB DDR3 Edition.

The GTX 650 has a 258 MHz higher core clock speed and the same number of Texture Mapping Units as the HD 7750. This results in the GTX 650 providing 8.3 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 650 has a 258 MHz higher core clock speed than the HD 7750 and the same number of Render Output Units. This results in the GTX 650 providing 4.1 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD 7750 was released less than a year after the GTX 650, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

The Radeon HD 7750 VTX3D 1GB DDR3 Edition and the GeForce GTX 650 1GB have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The GTX 650 has 54.4 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the HD 7750, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 650 is much better than the HD 7750.

The Radeon HD 7750 VTX3D 1GB DDR3 Edition has 512 Shader Processing Units and the GeForce GTX 650 1GB has 384. However, the actual shader performance of the HD 7750 is 348 and the actual shader performance of the GTX 650 is 406. The GTX 650 having 58 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 650 delivers a significantly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD 7750.

The GeForce GTX 650 1GB requires 64 Watts to run but there is no entry for the HD 7750. We would recommend a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the HD 7750 and a PSU with at least 400 Watts for the GTX 650. The two GPUs have been recommended a PSU with the same amount of wattage. As such, there is no need to worry about which will more significantly affect your yearly electricity bills.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 7750 VTX3D 1GB DDR3 Edition is a special edition of the fast-middle-class Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR3.
This version has no new features (when compared to the DDR3 version) and so it performs exactly like it.
GeForce GTX 650 1GB is a fast-middle-class GFX based on the 28nm Kepler architecture.
It's based on the Kepler GK107 Core (same used on GT 640) with a count of 384 CUDA Cores (just like GT 640) but paired with fast GDDR5.
Therefore, GeForce GTX 650 1GB can be addressed as a fast GeForce GT 640 paired with fast GDDR5.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is about 1% better than previous generation - GeForce GTX 550 Ti which might not make it a worthy replacement due to its extra cost and that the most demanding games (Metro 2033, The Witcher II, etc) still require reduced settings while modern demanding games (Battlefield 3, Max Payne 3) are playable at high settings but not paired with extreme resolutions.
