In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 3800 series are significantly better than the AMD Radeon HD 7540D.

The HD 3800 has no core clock speed set, so any comparison between Texture and Pixel Fill Rates is not currently possible.

The Radeon HD 7540D was released over three years more recently than the HD 3800, and so the Radeon HD 7540D is likely to have far better driver support, meaning it will be much more optimized and ultimately superior to the HD 3800 when running the latest games.

The Radeon HD 7540D has 512 MB more video memory than the HD 3800, so is likely to be much better at displaying game textures at higher resolutions. This is supported by the fact that the Radeon HD 7540D also has superior memory performance overall.

The Radeon HD 7540D has 29.9 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the HD 3800, which means that the memory performance of the Radeon HD 7540D is slightly better than the HD 3800.

The Radeon HD 7540D has 192 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 3800 series has 320. However, the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 7540D is 95 and the actual shader performance of the HD 3800 is 0. The Radeon HD 7540D having 95 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the Radeon HD 7540D delivers a noticeably smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD 3800.

The Radeon HD 7540D transistor size technology is 23 nm (nanometers) smaller than the HD 3800. This means that the Radeon HD 7540D is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the HD 3800.

The Radeon HD 7540D requires 65 Watts to run but there is no entry for the Radeon HD 3800 series.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewRadeon HD 7540D is an embedded GPU on the midle-class Trinity CPU A6-5400K.
Since the GPU doesn't have dedicated memory, the bandwidth will depend on the system ram speed which can be up to 1866MHz (the max speed supported by the CPU) meaning the operating memory speed is 933MHz and whether or not it's dual channel, as the bus width can be 64-bit or 128-bit.
Its core-clock is clocked at 760MHz and comes with 192 Shader Processing Units.
Radeon 7560D's performance depends a lot on driver support and varies from game to game in a way games in the same category (demanding, very demanding, etc) can be unplayable at the lowest settings or might run at medium/high settings.
Radeon HD 3800 Series is not a GPU but instead a combination between Radeon HD 3830, Radeon HD 3850 and Radeon HD 3870 whose rank is a balance between the three and that exists for System Requirements purposes only.
