In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition are massively better than the Intel HD i7 3770.

The GTX 550 Ti has a 325 MHz higher core clock speed and 28 more Texture Mapping Units than the HD i7 3770. This results in the GTX 550 Ti providing 28.6 GTexel/s better texturing performance. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 550 Ti has a 325 MHz higher core clock speed and 20 more Render Output Units than the HD i7 3770. This results in the GTX 550 Ti providing 20.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The HD i7 3770 was released over a year more recently than the GTX 550 Ti, and so the HD i7 3770 is likely to have better driver support, meaning it will be more optimized for running the latest games when compared to the GTX 550 Ti.

The GTX 550 Ti has 1024 MB video memory, but the HD i7 3770 does not have an entry, so the two GPUs cannot be reliably compared in this area.

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition has 192 Shader Processing Units and the HD i7 3770 has 16. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 550 Ti is 374 and the actual shader performance of the HD i7 3770 is 74. The GTX 550 Ti having 300 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 550 Ti delivers a massively smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the HD i7 3770.

The HD i7 3770 transistor size technology is 18 nm (nanometers) smaller than the GTX 550 Ti. This means that the HD i7 3770 is expected to run slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 550 Ti.

The HD i7 3770 requires 77 Watts to run but there is no entry for the GTX 550 Ti. We would recommend a PSU with at least 300 Watts for the HD i7 3770, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the GTX 550 Ti.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition is a special edition of the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. See the page of the standard version for more information.
The features include better cooling and an increase on the core-clock from 900MHz to 975MHz.
Benchmarks indicate the performance is 4.5% better when compared to the reference card.
Some modern demanding games will run at the highest settings using a 1080p resolution but the largest part will have to be played with a 720p resolution to be played optimally.
This Graphics Card needs to be paired with a decent Quad Core CPU.
Intel HD i7 3770 is the specific version of Intel HD Graphics 4000 Desktop that is Integrated in the Core i7-3770 Processor.

The Central Unit Initially Runs at 650MHz and goes up to 1150MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Frame Buffer: Up to 1.7GB.

Memory Channel: 64-bit Or 128-bit.

Memory Clock: Up to 800MHz.

Memory Bandwidth: It is then obvious the Memory Bandwidth depends on a lot of factors and thus this Graphics Card performance may vary heavily from system to system.
