In terms of overall gaming performance, the graphical capabilities of the AMD Radeon HD 6770 are marginally better than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition.

The GTX 550 Ti has a 125 MHz higher core clock speed than the Radeon HD 6770, but the Radeon HD 6770 has 8 more Texture Mapping Units than the GTX 550 Ti. As a result, the Radeon HD 6770 exhibits a 2.8 GTexel/s better Texture Fill Rate than the GTX 550 Ti. This still holds weight but shader performance is generally more relevant, particularly since both of these GPUs support at least DirectX 10.

The GTX 550 Ti has a 125 MHz higher core clock speed and 8 more Render Output Units than the Radeon HD 6770. This results in the GTX 550 Ti providing 9.8 GPixel/s better pixeling performance. However, both GPUs support DirectX 9 or above, and pixeling performance is only really relevant when comparing older cards.

The GTX 550 Ti was released less than a year after the Radeon HD 6770, and so they are likely to have similar driver support for optimizing performance when running the latest games.

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition and the Radeon HD 6770 have the same amount of video memory, but are likely to provide slightly different experiences when displaying game textures at high resolutions.

The GTX 550 Ti has 21.7 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the Radeon HD 6770, which means that the memory performance of the GTX 550 Ti is slightly better than the Radeon HD 6770.

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition has 192 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 6770 has 800. However, the actual shader performance of the GTX 550 Ti is 374 and the actual shader performance of the Radeon HD 6770 is 340. The GTX 550 Ti having 34 better shader performance and an altogether better performance when taking into account other relevant data means that the GTX 550 Ti delivers a slightly smoother and more efficient experience when processing graphical data than the Radeon HD 6770.

The Radeon HD 6770 requires 108 Watts to run but there is no entry for the GTX 550 Ti. We would recommend a PSU with at least 450 Watts for the Radeon HD 6770, but we do not have a recommended PSU wattage for the GTX 550 Ti.

GPU Mini Review

Mini ReviewGeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCU TOP Edition is a special edition of the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. See the page of the standard version for more information.
The features include better cooling and an increase on the core-clock from 900MHz to 975MHz.
Benchmarks indicate the performance is 4.5% better when compared to the reference card.
Some modern demanding games will run at the highest settings using a 1080p resolution but the largest part will have to be played with a 720p resolution to be played optimally.
This Graphics Card needs to be paired with a decent Quad Core CPU.
Radeon HD 6770 is fast-middle-class graphics solution, based on 40nm. It is based on JuniperXT architecture. It features 800 Shaders 16 ROPs, 40TMUs on 128 bit memory bus of fast GDDR5 running at 1200MHz and Core clock runs at 850MHz. 6770 is renamed 5770 with Open GL 4.1 support and small UVD tweaks. Latest games will run fluently on High graphics settings aside Crysis 3 which requires medium details in order to be playable on 1080p. Most suitable CPU match would be high-end dual core such as i3 or better.
