Black Mesa (previously known as Black Mesa: Source) is a planned third-party total conversion modification for Valve Corporation's Source Engine. The stated goal of the project was to recreate Valve's critically acclaimed 1998 video game Half-Life using the more advanced capabilities of the Source Engine. The 40-person development team said they hoped to create a more engrossing in-game world with more varied, complex environments and more challenging, realistic gameplay.
Black Mesa requires at least a Radeon R9 290 or GeForce GTX 970 4GB to meet recommended requirements running on high graphics setting, with 1080p resolution. This hardware should achieve 60FPS. The RAM requirements are at least a 8 GB memory. To meet min requirements your hardware requires at least a Radeon R7 360 v3 or GeForce GTX 750, which you will likely need to run on low graphics setting in game. You may need to adjust your screen resolution down from 1080p to reach a stable 30FPS. Also try adjusting other in-game graphic settings to further improve your minimum performance. Your GPU is expected to be able to deliver DirectX 9. Finally, Black Mesa will need hardware that is a 6 year old PC or younger to run recommended.
