StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void packshot image
Starcraft 2 is split into three games, each one representing a playable faction.
Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. These three distinct and powerful races will clash once again in the fast-paced real-time strategy sequel to the legendary original, StarCraft. Legions of veteran, upgraded, and brand-new unit types will do battle across the galaxy, as each faction struggles for survival.
Legacy of the Void features The Protoss
Highly advanced technology and potent psionic abilities, the protoss once considered themselves the most powerful species in the galaxy.
One of their greatest strengths lies in their fleet, which boasts a variety of ships powerful enough to pound an enemy to atoms.

I feel as the System results are misleading, the game can have 40 units active during certain game modes (such as campaign) that low end computers can handle yet at the same time in other game modes (such as Co-Op) it can have 500 units active with it's own animation and particle effects that gives me even low FPS.

Guys i have a question: my nvidia driver says i can run this at max, but even at the beginning of a match it struggles at 35 and in intense fights it can drop below 10. Care to tell me what part of my pc causes this?

I dropped setting to medium and i only had around 35-40 fps. Is it because of the game?

In my experience, it's due to the lack of optimization for multi-core CPU's. AMD CPU's in particular are most affected due to relying on multi-core performance over single core. The game relies heavily on single core speed over multi-core. Therefore intel systems run this game much better than AMD ones on average.

To update. After a recent patch, for me, the fps in this version of the game has increased immensely. Older AMD CPUs still seem to not do as well as Intel ones, but it now at least seems better for my system in particular. I'm not sure why that last comment was downvoted, it's the truth, and I was just trying to help.

Simple top-down/isometric RTS games don't have great graphical detail, high resolution textures or complex physics so they don't need particularly powerful hardware to run.

Yes it is a standalone game. You don't need to have HotS or WoL to play this. You can just buy LotV and start playing(fair warning though you'll be a bit lost on the story). My advice is buy the complete collection and start with WoL.
