Prices and hardware reviewed and updated: 1st Dec 2020

Here we will create the best priced PC build to run Sniper Elite 4, where it will meet the demands that a game like this will put on a custom PC. Our view is to answer the question, what PC should I buy that can play Sniper Elite IV really well, and for the best possible price today? Making our build requirement, when speccing this computer, to find the sweetest price point for our hardware list that can deliver the best FPS with top tier graphics options selected, along with a 1080p monitor resolution. As new gaming components are released for PC we will continue to review prices here each day and consider swapping in and out better components.

This title falls in the Shooter, Stealth genre category, which itself can influence the type of hardware we might consider for this build. Something we sometimes dont consider is that the game would be developed in 2017 and therefore on hardware from around that period of time. We can also assume that hardware from around that period would be part of the targeted hardware, in terms of performance, by the developers, as they provide graphical options for the hardware capabilities available. It is currently not on our list of most demanding games. Also it is falling outside of our most popular games list at the moment. With this info in hand to help guide our hardware build choices we will now select today’s best priced components that meet these game characteristics.

Choosing A Graphics Card For Our 1080p Sniper Elite 4 PC Build

Lets not pay over the odds when we put this game’s graphics card in. We want something that can play Sniper Elite IV at 1080p ultra graphics options and we want something that has a reasonable price compared to the other graphics options. The GeForce GTX 1660 Super Asus Dual Evo OC 6GB has been looking like a good stand in for this games curated PC build, based on the price of $239.99 that we found it marked at today. It will certainly help return suitable FPS, which we will go into a bit later in the article, at ultra 1080p. Out of interest our lowest price tracked on this graphics card was on 28th Nov 2019 where we saw it for $229.99. Looking a little deeper at this cards pricing history shows this card has seen a drop in its price by $47.68 over the last two weeks.

The game also needs this graphics solution to deliver at least 4 GB VRAM to act as a buffer between the PC build’s video card and the processor.

Selecting The Right Sniper Elite 4 1080p Motherboard and CPU

We have selected a MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 motherboard to allow us to then go on and add a great cpu for this Sniper Elite 4 build. With a LGA 1151 socket type motherboard we choose the well priced Core i5-9400 6-Core 2.9GHz, which is at the best price to performance for processors in this range at the moment. Currently priced at a competitive $167.77 this cpu is a good performance addition for our build. Giving us a bit more of an insight we saw this processor being sold for a low price of $146.95, which was on 4th Aug 2020.

And with the motherboard costing $49.46 this really helps pull the PC we are building together. To provide a motherboard pricing benchmark the lowest recorded price we have for the MSI B360M PRO-VD Intel mATX LAG1151 is $32.99 on 28th Dec 2019.

How To Choose The Best RAM For Sniper Elite 4 At The Right Price

Researching the correct system memory for our build means we need it to meet Sniper Elite 4 requirements, with a view to running reliable FPS at Ultra settings leads us to OLOy 16GB (1x16GB) DDR4 2400MHz. Today it is one of the best priced RAM options at $50.99 and will certainly support the CPU and GPU well. This RAM was recorded at the lowest price of $32.99, and this was on 7th Jan 2020.

PC Performance Review at 1080p Ultra Settings on Sniper Elite 4

A PC build like this can expect to get an average of 99 FPS on High settings in Sniper Elite 4 at 1080p. There may be some lower frame rates in some parts of the game, but we have chosen the components to get some solid frame rates. Increasing the quality in the game to Ultra, will see us still getting an FPS of 71.

Other Popular Game 1080p Ultra Custom PC Builds

At some point you might want to increase your screen size from 1080p to 1440p. Sniper Elite IV running with this hardware on the larger screen resolution would return 54 FPS at Ultra graphics setting or possibly up to an average of 76 FPS on High settings.

How this build performs for other popular games

Ensuring our PC build for Sniper Elite 4 runs some of the more popular games of today competently at 1080p is also something worth considering. Looking at FIFA 21 we see this pc build is likely to get 174FPS on Ultra and 200+FPS on High graphics settings. In contrast we can expect Grand Theft Auto VI to return 44FPS on Ultra and 62FPS when lowered to High. Another popular game at the moment is Assassins Creed: Valhalla, which is 48 FPS running at Ultra, and 68 on High graphics settings.

Selecting A High Performance Mouse For Sniper Elite 4

As Sniper Elite 4 falls into the Shooter, Stealth genre group, we have chosen to increase the quality of the mouse we are adding to our PC to help better meet the needs of the game. We have opted for the Cooler Master MM710, where this particular mouse is currently today’s best price but a more high performing gamer mouse than some of the other mice we normally choose in our builds.

Sniper Elite 4 Benefits From a High Quality Audio Headset

This title’s genre, Shooter, Stealth, made us want to find a headset that can really capitalise on the higher audio demands the game can deliver. We therefore selected the headset from a better group of peripherals, while still looking for the best value headset. We have chosen the Tritton ARK Elite 7.1 for its clear audio and great price today. If you wish to find cheaper or better quality headsphones then use our selection list above to see some other headsets that we have found that represent good value gaming audio today.

An Alternative Sniper Elite 4 Graphics Card Option for 1080p

The AMD option for this build would be the 7% better performance difference Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB graphics card and certainly a viable choice for Sniper Elite 4. We considered this alternative graphics solution because it was also the best price point in this performance range. It is priced at $699.99 today.
