Microsoft SideWinder gamepad Review

Microsoft SideWinder is the general name given to the family of digital game controllers developed by Microsoft for PCs. Although intended only for use with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SideWinder game controllers can also be used with Apple's Mac OS X and Linux (or any Unix with an x86 version of X11 version 2.1.xx or newer).
The term "SideWinder" describes many types of Microsoft's PC game controllers including joysticks, gamepads and steering wheels. Several types of joysticks were made, including the Force Feedback 2, the 3D Pro, and the regular SideWinder joystick. Also, several types of gamepads were made, such as the original game port version, a plug-and-play game port version, and the USB version. Steering wheels are the Precision Racing Wheel and the Force Feedback Wheel variants which include throttle and brake pedals.

Even today, this gamepad still holds prime over the majority of devices available on the market. Glad I'm one of the lucky people, who still own one. All you need is a gameport to USB adapter.

@ CausticFox There is a device that is sold in some computer stores that converts from gameport to USB. Amazon website is a place you can get it for sure. Look at this link and you'll see for yourself; http://is.gd/Xzhxka
Here are two other site in the UK; http://is.gd/xa1rtK; http://is.gd/0sCjU7
And a guy asking the question and the positive answer; http://is.gd/V03QYp
The reason I'm filling you on this info its because I got one and is using the adapter via my windows 7 64 bit OS. And its working for me.

I have mine still after 12+ years, and it's working fine. Can't use it anymore because no motherboards come with gameports anymore. ;)
