I'd say the Quake RTX comparison is the most jarring because on one side you have the 90s game running on modern hardware, hence a 1000+ fps, on the other side, you have 2019-2020 shaders with complete pathtraced GI - the computational power needed for that is crazy and only really understood by those who deal with such things (3D artists, game devs, graphics engineers, etc). The RTX version here is so heavy on the hardware, that my I can muster a decently playable 70fps or so at 1440p native using TWO 2080Tis or 1080p on a single 2080Ti.

In QUAKE 2 RTX you can also try disabling the denoising in the settings. You will get a nice boost in FPS. The temporal accumulation of GI data and then filtering it all down to a noise-free image takes a lot of processing power, by the looks of it. At least that was my experience. I could almost get a playable 5K framerate without denoising…but obviously the image is very grainy :D

Really nice benchmarks, amazed to see over 1000 fps in quake and with RTX on getting not even 10 fps, also in most games the difference between RTX and regular rastrization is minimal, it is clearly visible on reflective objects.

exactlly the biggest difference is Quake 2 RTX my guess is becouse its old game so lighting effects were not so developed back then as they are nowdays, also becouse Quake RTX have multiple RT features unlike other games

It pretty much kills of 50% of the FPS.
Did you notice any stuttering while you were using RTX?

depends on what do you mean by stuttering, i mean its 20fps or less its slow as hell, tho in bf5 it works smooth and it metro its fine on the outside world but when you are undeground it can fall down to 30

I meant that the img wouldn't display itself correctly (2 frames would overlap, or a similar situation).

well you can always set everything to minimum and keep only RT to achive thos 30+fps thos for some games its makes it unplayable, also there few ray tracing settings in each of this games so you can also get 30+ just by setting it to RT medium or low, but pic were with maxed RT
